Welcome to our Campion website which will introduce you to Ignatian spirituality. From June 2020 we underwent re-organisation for our future ministry under the auspices of Jesuit and Ignatian Spirituality Australia and you may notice some changes on our website. We are maintaining our current site for the foreseeable future and programs will be found under events & retreats. (For our National programs and news you may also like to visit jisa.org.au.)
Campion Centre – Jesuit and Ignatian Spirituality Australia is a community of welcome and prayer. Our team of directors offer programs and retreats, which are steeped in the spirituality of Saint Ignatius of Loyola (1491-1556).
Ignatian spirituality is about finding God in all things. To put this in other words, this means finding purpose, meaning, light and joy in everything that crosses my path of life. Relationships, events, my feelings, what happens to me are all vehicles for God to lead me towards a richer life.
This type of spirituality is for everyone – regardless of status, gender, age or faith. We are all human beings and all created with gifts to give the world.
St Ignatius wrote down his spiritual practices in a book called The Spiritual Exercises. The Spiritual Exercises have been variously named a school for prayer, for discernment and for loving action. His exercises foster interior freedom and facilitate good life decisions.
Campion CIS acknowledges the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation who are the traditional custodians of this land and we pay our respect to the elders both past and present.
